Privacy Policy
Updated October 3, 2026. Applies to Nami Navigator for iPhone and iPad.
The short version
Your saved waypoint names, notes and coordinates stay in the app's storage on your device. Nami 1.3 introduces basic product analytics through Mixpanel. Earlier App Store versions do not include this integration. There is no account, advertising or advertising tracking.
Location and saved spots
With your permission, Nami uses your location and compass heading to show your position, save a spot and provide straight-line guidance back to it. Saved spots include their name, notes, coordinates, date and reported GPS accuracy. These are stored locally, not sent to our analytics service.
You can delete individual waypoints in the app and change location permission in iOS Settings. Removing the app removes its local storage. Device backups may retain app data under your Apple backup settings; Nami does not provide its own cloud sync or backup service.
Product analytics in version 1.3
Release builds send explicit events for app launches, waypoint creation and deletion, starting navigation, viewing the paywall, and completed or restored purchases. Debug builds and automated tests do not send these events.
Each event includes an event timestamp, app and platform tags, standard device model, operating-system and app-version metadata, and a randomly generated installation identifier. This identifier links events from the same installation. It is not your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier. We do not merge separate installations into one person.
Purchase events tell us that the Pro upgrade was purchased or restored. They do not include payment-card details, billing information or receipts. We do not send waypoint names, notes, coordinates or GPS accuracy to Mixpanel. There is no automatic screen capture, session recording or advertising identifier collection in the app.
We use these identifiers, product interactions and purchase events only to understand usage and improve Nami. IP-based geolocation enrichment is disabled, although Mixpanel necessarily receives your IP address when handling the network connection. We do not use these events to track you across other companies' apps or websites or to target advertising.
Mixpanel processes analytics on our behalf, which may involve processing outside your country. Deleting Nami does not automatically delete events already received by Mixpanel. Contact us about privacy or deletion requests. Without an account, we may be unable to connect an installation's records to you.
Apple services
Nami uses Apple's MapKit to display maps and StoreKit to purchase or restore Pro. These services may communicate with Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details. Saved waypoints and compass calculations work on your device; loading map imagery and processing purchases may require internet access.
Support and this website
If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send so we can respond. Avoid sending sensitive location details unless needed for your question.
This website uses separate Mixpanel analytics for page views and interactions, with a browser identifier and standard browser and network information. Website analytics is separate from Nami's app analytics and is not a promise of anonymous browsing.
Children
Nami does not ask for your age and is not directed specifically at children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed.
