Reader — Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 29, 2026
Overview
Reader is a personal file reader for iPhone and iPad. It connects to a server that you run on your own computer, over your own private network, to browse and read your files. Reader is built to be private by default.
Data we do not collect
Reader does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Your files, notes, or their contents
- Browsing or reading history
- Location data
- Contacts or photos
- Advertising or tracking identifiers
Reader contains no analytics, no tracking SDKs, and no third‑party advertising. There are no user accounts.
How your information is handled
- The server address you enter is stored only on your device (in the app’s settings).
- The access token you enter is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. It is sent only to the server you configured, to authenticate your own requests.
- Your files are fetched directly from the server you run and are displayed on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
We (the developer) never receive your server address, token, or files.
Demo mode
Reader includes a built‑in demo with sample notes so you can try the app with no server. Demo content is bundled in the app and works fully offline. No data leaves your device.
Third‑party services
None. Reader does not integrate any third‑party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data sharing
We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data, because we do not collect any.
Children’s privacy
Reader does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
