Common questions
I see "No calendar access". Huy Cal needs full calendar access to show your events. On iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars › Huy Cal › Full Access. On Mac: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars, then turn on Huy Cal.
How do I add a city? Tap the clock button (Mac: the clock in the toolbar, or ⌘, › Time Zones), then Add Time Zone. Search a city or country. You can show up to four.
Why did the gap to another city change? Daylight saving. Each city follows its own rules and dates: Sydney and San Francisco, for example, are 17, 18 or 19 hours apart depending on the time of year. Huy Cal uses your device's time zone database, so the gap updates by itself, and on the day any of your cities changes its clocks the day view says "Clocks change today".
What is the dashed line across the day? It is another city's midnight: its date changes there. The label above is the day that ends, the one below is the day that starts ("SF Thu 1" / "SF Fri 2").
What does "primary" mean? The first zone in the list is home. Each day runs from its midnight to midnight, and the title shows its date. Drag a zone to the top, or open it and choose Make Primary.
A calendar is missing. Huy Cal shows the calendars your device already has. Add the account in Settings › Calendar › Accounts (Mac: the Calendar app's settings), then check it isn't hidden in Huy Cal's Calendars list.
Is my calendar uploaded anywhere? No. Huy Cal has no server and makes no network requests. See the privacy policy.
How do I install the Mac app? Download the DMG from the Huy Cal page, open it and drag Huy Cal onto the Applications folder. It is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app. Needs macOS 26 or later.
How do I update the Mac app? Download the latest version from the Huy Cal page and drag it into Applications, replacing the old one. Your settings stay.
